Fort Kennedy is a veteran nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of veterans and their families through housing stabilization, resource navigation, peer support, and connections to critical community services. By partnering with local, state, and federal agencies, Fort Kennedy helps veterans access housing assistance, benefits, food security resources, and supportive programs that promote long-term stability, dignity, and self-sufficiency.
Tina Kennedy is the Founder and Executive Director of Fort Kennedy and a proud U.S. Army veteran who served for 22 years, retiring at the rank of First Sergeant. Following her military retirement, Tina found the transition to civilian life far more difficult than anticipated. Like many veterans, she struggled to navigate complex systems, access resources, and find a sense of belonging outside the military community. Rather than allowing those challenges to define her, Tina turned her experience into a mission. Determined to help her fellow brothers and sisters in arms, she dedicated herself to connecting veterans with housing resources, benefits, supportive services, and community support. What began as a personal commitment to helping other veterans grew into Fort Kennedy, a trusted nonprofit organization serving veterans and their families throughout the Portland metropolitan area. Through her leadership, advocacy, and firsthand understanding of the challenges veterans face, Tina has helped countless veterans find stability, dignity, and hope while building stronger connections between veterans and the communities they call home.
