Rick Reynolds, Co-Founder of STREAM-N Team
“Finding Your Voice” Social Justice Speaker Series
Empowered teens in the STREAM~N Team program are addressing critical issues impacting our communities, while developing career readiness, critical thinking, creativity, and teamwork skills. Hands-on service-learning experiences with Science, Technology, Research, Engineering, Arts, Math, and Nature are helping to restore our ecosystems and build climate resilience through supportive communities in Portland, Oregon City, and beyond. Co-Founder and fellow UU Rick Reynolds will share inspirational stories about the program and The STREAM~N Network non-profit’s impactful work, chaired by Wy’east’s own Lana Quackenbush.
Rick Reynolds (M.S. Ed.) has been a passionate educator for over 30 years. He creates educational programs and resources with partners such as NOAA and the National Park Service through Engaging Every Student, the organization he founded in 2009 with the mission to help make the learning process more compelling and meaningful. Rick enjoys community service and exploring the great outdoors with his wife and collaborator, Krista Reynolds, both longtime UUs. Their commitment to environmental and social justice led them to create the STREAM~N Team service-learning program for underserved teens, supported by the growing STREAM~N Network non-profit.
