At Wy’east UU, our vision includes partnering with the broader community to share resources, effort, and time to support justice in all its forms, plus practice and model a world we dream is possible.
Why does Wy’east engage in social justice practice? Unitarian Universalism has a long history of commitment to social justice work. It’s one of the reasons that people become members of a congregation like ours. But it is not enough to just make a gesture in the direction of a particular issue. It’s getting involved in some way that makes a difference to Wy’easters — by bringing it to life.
Social Justice and service work at Wy’east take a number of forms, and there are several ways members participate. These include participating in one of our community presence projects, contributing to the Social Justice Committee’s work, and organizing or participating in a Fifth Sunday Service Project.
