Wy'east UU Community Board Meeting Minutes July 11, 2024

Previous Minutes: previous minutes were sent for review to board members and attendees and several minor changes were made. No further changes were proposed at this meeting, so we voted to approve them. The minutes were sent to our Administrator Gigi for posting to our web site and archiving.

 

Committee on Ministry (COM)

Jan expressed plan to meet with Wyeast committees and groups to discuss how everyone at Wyeast is needed to help meet the vision, integrating the new Wy’East mission statement with their activities. This includes the Worship, Membership, RE, and Social Justice committees, the Chalice Circle, the Men's group, and the Lilac Meadows and 5th Sunday Community Service teams. The Com. on Ministry will recap meetings with board afterwards at the September or October board meeting.

 

Staff Contracts to signed electronically and salary updates

Diane will send pdf signable contracts to our employees: Rev. Bucknell-Marx, Gigi, Candace. D’on needs to know rates on the contracts, Debra T. needs to know rates to enter payroll by end of month. D'on prints the checks and treasurer Larry gets them signed and distributed at the first Sunday service.

Small Group events 

The board will review scheduling of small events.

 

Religious Education (RE)

Committee to select new RE is underway.  Marcy will locate and publish job description in job search sites. Will advertise on our chat and "indeed." Job description is located on our Google drive. Committee recruits and then Board interviews.

 

Secretary and Treasurer for board

Marcy was elected to be board secretary and Larry was elected to be treasurer.

 

Senior center new contract needed in writing.

Hank passed on that Bruce reported that the new monthly rental amount is $332 through June. Starting in July it increases by $56 each month through January 2025, reaching $725.

 

Debra will make a new Zoom board meeting and host upcoming meetings.
