Wy’east UU Board Meeting Minutes

Monday, December 2 , 2024

• Present: Debra T., Larry B., Kathy S., Marcy S., Diane A., and Leslie B.M.

Meeting Minutes 

• Meeting Minutes review and approval:

• Membership Report:

  • A few new people are coming to the service this month
• Social Justice Report:

  • They could use more people in the committee to contact some of the organizations that they highlight for the year.
• Treasurer Report:
  • Credit Union: deposited income and printed out summary reports
    • Business account went from about 14K to about 21K, so we are up about 7K for this account.
    • Money Market money is only getting 1.5%, we could move it to an account with more interest…such as a CD or several different CDs
      • Larry would like to get together with D’On and possibly move it to an account with more interest
      • Larry will talk with Mathias and D’on and report back at the next meeting
• Website:
  • How do you login to the Wy’East Website?
    • Contacting Anders may be the answer at the next service. 
    • Board members do not know their login information
• Religious Education Report:
  • The current set-up doesn’t meet the needs of all of the children attending
  • There is a problem that needs to be solved
  • We need to have a separate meeting to discuss this, should this be the board or the RE Committee?
  • The Festival of Lights is the next in-person and Larry would like to volunteer to help if needed 
    • Diane will email Anders if he needs any more help with the Festival of Lights
    • Leslie will email the potential lines to read aloud to Larry, Kathleen, and Marcy because they are interested
• Board meeting on the January 19th to discuss vision of where we need to be
  • May need 2-3 hours to discuss, may need to find a different venue because we have to be out by 2pm at CfPA
  • May also invite Committee on Ministry, the Chairs of Worship, SJC, or Membership Committee 
  • Kathleen’s house may be the meeting spot
  • Leslie will be creating what this meeting will entail and create an agenda
• Minister Report:
  • No report at this time
• Gigi Access to Realm:
  • Larry is still in the process of figuring this out
• Worship Committee Report
  • No report at this time
  • Leslie asked the Worship committee about announcing important announcements.
    • They have agreed to try to have Leslie announce prior confirmed announcements.
  • Maybe we could list the topic of RE on an easel, so congregants know what children are working on in RE

To Do’s and Who

• Diane A. email Anders to see if he needs any adult help for the Festival of Lights
• Larry contact Mathias and D’on about reinvesting the money market account
• Leslie emailing scrip parts for the Festival of Lights to interested board members
• Marcy will contact Anders at the next in-person service or email about how to login to the Wy’east website
