Minister: Craig spent 50 hours preparing and presenting Jim Minard’s celebration of life service. More time was required preparing it for a Zoom presentation. Thank you, Craig! It was a wonderful, joyful service.
Worship and Social Justice: MA plans to expand notes for these committee reports. The board members agreed the attachments are helpful and appropriate.
RE: Ari stated that the committee is excited to plan in person children services utilizing the HSC front room. A search for a child support person will be posted soon.
Treasurer’s Report. Income low in October but higher in November.
Reflections of on the board retreat: Thank you, Ruth, for your hospitality. Members agreed that it was worthwhile to meet in person, learn more about each other and set goals. Ari suggested revisiting goals often.
Return to In Person Services:
The worship Committee set a goal of a hybrid service beginning in the middle of January.
Craig has contacted Lee Springstead to help with the technical aspects of a hybrid service.
The volunteer outreach slide has been added to the pre and post service slide show.
Jolanda Walters may not be available in January and February. The worship committee is aware.
Jolanda’s contract will need to be reviewed after decisions are final for hybrid and in person services. Services
Volunteer Tasks:
Jocelyn is stepping back from her volunteer tasks. Linda B and MA will train for mail retrieval, check deposits, and record keeping for member’s pledge contributions. A third person will be needed on the finance committee. Ari stated that D’On and she were managing the financial tasks.
Ari suggested developing a volunteer task pamphlet. Lana reminded us of the volunteer appreciation events held in the past and hope we can resume these.
Linda B suggested a need to obtain a list of more specific volunteer tasks that members are doing to keep Wy east UUC functioning smoothly.
Ministerial Search Committee Timeline: The slide presentation held for the congregation on Dec. 5, 2021 generated questions on the budget process. Lana stated that there seems to be confusion over the budget, and the need to offer transparency throughout the church year. The process in the past has been to Canvass and then create a budget. It is suggested that a more open plan may be to develop a “hopeful” budget goal prior to the canvass. Ari agreed to draft this.
Craig stated that choosing a quarter time administrator and quarter/third time minister is a more complex model and a step forward for Wy ‘east UUC.
In person vote on 2019-2020 Zoom board meeting minutes: Lana will schedule this. She plans to contact Daniale and offer herself as proxy in this voting process due to Daniale’s schedule.
